NEW DELHI: Indian boxing sensation Vijender Singh is all set to defend his WBO Asia Pacific and Oriental super middleweight titles against African Champion Ernest Amuzu at the Sawai Mansingh Indoor Stadium in Jaipur on December 23.

The 32-year-old Haryana boxer, who is currently ninth in the WBO rankings, defeated China's No.1 boxer Zulpikar Maimaitiali during his last fight in Mumbai to claim WBO Oriental Super Middleweight title and successfully defended his WBO Asia Pacific title.

Vijender, who had won double title fight in August this year, entered professional boxing in the year 2015. He has nine wins under his belt with seven of them being won by Knockouts and two by Unanimous Decision.

He has played 40 rounds in his nine fights of pro career so far.

Before winning double title fight against Maimaitiali in August this year, the Golden boy of Indian boxing was challenged by Francis Cheka of Tanzania for his WBO Asia Pacific Title in December last year which was gracefully retained by Vijender.

Vijender won his maiden title last year in July after defeating Kerry Hope of Australia. Other top Indian Pro boxers will feature in the card which will be announced soon.

Commenting on his next fight in India, Vijender Singh said, "I am really excited on having my 10th fight in India in the Pink City of Jaipur. I am training hard in the ring for the last two months and still have three weeks to go for my next fight, so looking forward to winning the third title fight in a row. I am sure it will be an exciting fight night for the people of Jaipur and I am confident that sporting fans will come out in large number to support me when I compete for my third title fight."

The 34-year-old boxer from Ghana, Ernest Amuzu, is looking at winning 26th pro fight of his career against Vijender Singh who is currently at the 9th place in WBO rankings.

The West African Boxing Union Middleweight champion and Ghanaian middleweight champion holds a record of 23 wins with 21 knockouts and two losses out of total 25 fights he has fought so far in his career. This is his first fight in Asia.

Highly-experienced boxer from Ghana, Ernest Amuzu has also been an amateur boxer who participated in the Commonwealth Games 2002, All Africa Games in 2004 and two African Championships in 2003 and 2005.

Commenting on his fight against Vijender, Ernest Amuzu said, "I know Vijender Singh is a good boxer and has been an unbeatable in his pro career so far, but I will give him a tough challenge on 23rd December and I am confident that he will lose his both the titles in front of his home crowd. So far Vijender has not faced any tough and experienced opponent like me, I am sure that after facing me in the ring he will realise how tough pro boxing is. I am ready and fully prepared to defeat Vijender Singh in the early 3-4 rounds Knockout win."

Vijender Singh headlined fight will also see other talented Indian fighters competing for 4 to 8 rounder fights in ‘Rajasthan Rumble’.
