THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Speaker P Sreeramakrishnan has sought an explanation from P V Anwar MLA for continuing as a member of the Environmental Committee of the Assembly after being alleged of constructing a water-theme park by violating various environmental rules, based on a complaint filed by former KP{CC president V M Sudheeran.

Violation of rules, obstructing the flow of a river, and owning illegal properties are the complaints against Anwar.

Anil Akkara, K Babu, O R Kelu, P T A Rahim, K M Shaji, and M Vincent are the other members of the committee chaired by former minister Mullakkara Ratnakaran, which was appointed by the Assembly to study and submit reports on environment related issues.

As of now, even P V Anwar himself can take part in sitting if the committee arrives to do an evaluation of Kakkadampoyil issue.
