KOTTAYAM: Kerala Congress (M) chairman K M Mani has come out in support of the chief minister over chopper controversy. “On all times, chief ministers and ministers have made such journeys and there is no big mistake in that. “If he has taken money from the relief fund, he just need to give it back,” he said.

Mani’s statement is relevant as a group in the LDF is making attempts to bring Mani into their camp.

Earlier, Law Minister A K Balan had also come out in support of the chief minister. “There is nothing wrong in the chief minister’s journey. There is nothing unlawful.

Not even a single paise was taken from the Ockhi relief fund for the chief minister’s chopper ride. All those reports are misunderstandings. The money was taken from State disaster relief fund (SDRF). Even prime ministers and union ministers in India have taken money from this fund for official purposes,” he added.
