THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Vigilance case accused Saji Basheer has been removed as Kelpalm MD, following the instructions of Industries Minister A C Moideen.

A replacement to his post is not yet made. The minister had earlier accepted the failure of the government in the issue. He said that the circumstances that led to his appointment would be examined and the corrupt would not be protected.

The minister had earlier said that the counsel’s version in the high court would be examined and had asked the officials to present the related files before him. Saji’s expulsion came soon after this.

The appointment of Basheer, against whom there are several corruption cases, had become controversial.

Saji had approached high court against his removal when E P Jayarajam was the minister. After that he was taken back in service. Only later it was later alleged that he had not submitted in the court the details of corruption cases against him.
