THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: K Muraleedharan MLA has demanded that the government must clarify the benefits to NRIs by hosting the Kerala Loka Sabha by spending crores of rupees.

“The discussions at the meeting have only the standards of regular seminars. Now the NRI Malayalees have been categorised as ‘big’ and ‘small’. Even the accommodation provided for the participants were based on this,” he said.

Muraleedharan also questioned the relevance of talking about AKG by the Chief Minister at the meeting, as there is no apparent relationship between AKG and NRIs. “If it was to answer V T Balram, the CM could have just called for a press meet. Also, the CM’s economic advisor Gita Gopinath said that the GST and the ‘note ban’ were good moves. I think the CM must clarify his stance on this,” he said.
Talking about the recent alliance shift by the JD(U), Muraleedharan has said that such treachery of the UDF who gave the party a political asylum by a senior leader such as Veerendra Kumar was unfortunate.

“They struck a deal with the LDF even while staying with the UDF. Besides, technically speaking, Veerendra Kumar’s party is not actually JD(U),” he said.
