ALAPPUZHA: Still clinging on to V T Balram MLA’s statement against AKG, CPM leader Kodiyeri said if he had made a statement against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Congress would have expelled him from the party.

“Since Balram had talked against AKG, the Congress is welcoming them ceremoniously,” Kodiyeri said this while inaugurating CPM district conference in Kayamkulam.

“Congress didn’t try to correct the MLA who spoke badly about AKG. On the other hand Rahul Gandhi ousted Mani Shankar Iyer when he spoke against Modi. Certain Congressmen have been trying to degrade respectable persons like AKG. In Kerala the UDF will again disintegrate. There is no existence for anti-CPM front in Kerala. K M Mani who was in UDF is nowhere now. Veeran’s socialist Janata left UDF. The UDF has reduced to a front comprising only Congress and League,” he said.
