THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala has said that the hacking to death of Youth Congress Mattanur block secretary Shuhaib by the CPM members is a terrible jolt to the human consciousness.

He added that Kannur is witnessing ‘red terror’. He also said that the CPM has taken law into its own hand by not allowing the police to function properly.

Chennithala pointed out that 21 political murders happened in Kannur after the LDF came to power. He said that the CPM is wrecking terror in Kannur by not allowing any other political party to function there.

Terming the brutal murder of Shuhaib as shocking and sad, Chennithala urged the Congress members to maintain self-control and not react to the situation. He also said that he would be visiting Kannur on Thursday.
