HYDERABAD: Police have filed a case against Omar Lulu, the director of the soon-to-be-released ‘Oru Adar Love’, for allegedly hurting the religious sentiments of a particular community.

A bunch of youths from Hyderabad’s Farooq Nagar on Wednesday gave complaint against a song in the film ‘Manikya Malarayi Poovi’, saying that the lyrics defamed Prophet Muhammed. After this,  the Falaknama police filed a case against the director under IPC 295A. The charge can invite a punishment of up to four years in jail.

It was on Wednesday morning that the Muslim youth approached the police. But police sent them back for want of evidence in the form of video. The police said that a case could be registered only if they presented the video. Later the youths went to the police station with the video and got the case registered.

By the way, there was also a rumour that case had also been registered against Priya Warrier, who had acted in the song scene but Hyderabad police confirmed that the case was only against the director.
