THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP President Kummanam Rajasekharan said the election result in Tripura shows that his party can win elections in Kerala also as the Congress and the Left parties have lost significance in National politics.

Talking to newspersons here, Rajasekharan said his party's historic win reflects the growing insignificance of the Congress and the Communists parties in National politics.

"The people who lost faith in Communism voted against CPI (M) which was in power for the last 25 years in Tripura. The day will come for the people in Kerala to reject both the Congress and the CPI (M)," he added.

Meanwhile, veteran leader V S Achuthanandan said the time has come for an alliance with parties fighting against the BJP at the National level.

Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala said the Election Results in Tripura shows that CPI (M) is not able to fight against communal forces in the country. 'The murder politics of CPI (M) and intolerance were the main reasons for their defeat', he added.
