       Boy killed, two others injured after falling into canal

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 10-year-old boy was killed after falling into a canal near Marayamuttom. The condition of two other school students who were involved in the accident continued to be serious.

The dead identified as Rahul P Reji, 10, son of Reji and Prajitha of Kuruvodu, was a Class IV student. He was travelling on a cycle along with his brother Ranjith P. Reji, 9, and their friend Ashi, 15, when they fell from a height of over 10 feet into the canal near Paliyode. They were on their way to a karate class when the incident had taken place. According to the Marayamuttom police, while Ranjith was hospitalised at the Thiruvananthapuram Government Medical College Hospital, Ashi was admitted to a private hospital at Karakkonam.
