PUNALUR: Native of Punalur in Kollam and NRI Sugathan’s son Sunil has alleged that the AIYF is protecting the accused behind his father’s suicide.

He added that the accused are being protected by the police and that they are trying to shelve the case by saying that there aren’t enough evidence.

“It’s clear by now that we’d not get justice. There’s no one else to complain to,” he said.

Giving a welcome party to the AIYF members, who were arrested in connection with Sugathan’s death, after they got out on bail had stirred controversy. The AIYF leadership gave a grand welcome party to these members in the Punalur town.

Sugathan committed suicide after AIYF members stopped him from starting his own workshop in his hometown. The AIYF members had raised their flag in the plot that Sugathan had leased out near Illambal Pineapple Jn., along the Kollam-Tirumangalam national highway, to start his own workshop.
