THRISSUR:  The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has roped in Mayor Ajitha Jayarajan and upcoming actor Priya Prakash Warrier as RPF Mitra, a community policing campaigning launched by the RPF.

The campaign, inaugurated by Mayor Ajitha Jayarajan at Thrissur Railway station on Monday, was part of RPF Mitra Yojana launched in connection with the observance of 2018 as women safety year.

RPF Mitra Yojana has been initiated by the Indian Railways with an objective of providing protection and security through public participation.

Those who are volunteering as RPF Mitra will report security issues to the RPF control room.

The campaign also stresses on helpline No. 182 that can be used in case of security issues on train or railway premises.
