The work on film Bilathikatha, which Ranjith was supposed to have directed with Mohanlal in the lead, has been abandoned.
Instead of that, Ranjith is going to produce another film with a new story and Mohanlal in the lead.

Sethu, who did the script for Bilathikath, would be directing that film with a whole set of new cast.

The script will be written by Ranjith.

Mohanlal will join the sets on May 14 in London. It would also be the first day of the shoot.
Mohanlal has given 30 days’ call-sheet for the Rajith film.

The yet-to-be titled film will be produced by Subair N P and M K Nazar under the banners Lillypad Motion pictures (UK) Ltd and Varnachithra Goodline Productions.

Kannada star Arundhathi Nag Siddique, Tiny Tom, Baiju, Mythili and Subi Suresh will be part of the film
Azhakappan will crank the camera.

The Ranjith-Mohanlal film will reach theatres during Onam.

Kayam Kulam Kochunni, the Nivin Pauly film in which Mohanlal will appear as Ithikkarapakki, will also reach the theatre during Onam.
