THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KPCC president M M Hassan has said that the order by the Kerala High Court to remove Saritha Nair’s letter from the Solar Commission report was a through backlash to the LDF government that attempted political revenge.

“With the order by the HC, the very Solar report has become irrelevant now. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan who character assassinated former chief minister Oommen Chandy based on the remarks in the report must now offer to apologise publicly,” he said.

Commenting about the Karnataka election results, he said that though it was disappointing, the reason for Congress losing might be the prevalent anti-incumbency trend that the state has been following for a long time.

“Such a public verdict is disappointing when fascist forces are continuously attacking the secularism and democracy of our country,” he said.

However, he added that the Karnataka election results would not affect the results of the upcoming Chengannur bypolls.

“The UDF will win comfortably in Chengannur. There, the fight is between the UDF and the LDF,” he said.
