THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM Mangalapuram area secretary Vinod Kumar, who had been arrested in a sexual abuse case, was suspended from the party on Wednesday. The CPM Thiruvananthapuram district secretariat has also decided to appoint an inquiry commission against him. He was arrested by Madgauv police.

Vinod Kumar called a woman hailing from Thiruvananthapuram to Goa after offering to arrange the passport for her. He promised to get the Portuguese passport for her through his friends there. At a hotel in Goa, Vinod barged into the woman’s room and tried to sexually harass her, says the DIR report.
