Younger sisters of actresses making an entry into cinema is not an unusual thing but an elder sister following her younger sister’s footsteps in acting is something rare.

Naila Usha is an actress who had carved a niche of her own in Malayalam film industry. Now, Naila’s sister Athira Usha is making her debut in Malayalam cinema.

The launch pad of Naila was Kunjanandante Kada while Athira Usha got the opening through I decided to short films. “Even long ago, I had cinema dreams and now I took up the role as I liked it,” Athira said.

Athira said during young days, she was in the habit of seeing lots of cinemas. “At that time I would see Mammootty-Mohanlal films and Tamil films mostly. Then I had dreamt about becoming a star with a huge fan following.  But I dared not speak about my dream at that time. But ad films, modelling and short films I did later instilled some confidence in me,” she said.
