KOTTAYAM: A 65-year-old woman died at Erumeli in the early hours of Monday after she was allegedly attacked by her husband.

According to the police, Kumaran of Eettathottathil House, a coconut climber, attacked his wife Thankamma with a machete.

The neighbours had informed the police of the violence, but by the time the police arrived, the woman had succumbed to the deep injuries she had sustained.

The incident on Monday.

The couple were living alone at their house at Manjalaruvi, near Erumeli. They have three married daughters. Kumaran, who was at the residence when the police arrived, was arrested.
