THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Refuting former KPCC president V M Sudheeran’s statement that there is excess of group politics in the State Congress, KPCC president M M Hassan said that there is groupism in the party but there is no excess of it in Kerala.

At a press conference here on Tuesday, he said that what Sudheeran said what his personal opinion. “There have been groups in Congress on all times. Now also there is. It was there even when Sudheeran was the KPCC president. He didn’t resign because of excess of groupism. He was not personally interested in continuing as KPCC president. And, it was not because the party lost in election or because Veerendra Kumar left the Front.”

Hassan said that workers should express their opinion in party forums and not in the public. “As a KPCC president, I will point out if someone breaches party discipline. Even Sudheeran issued warnings against public criticism of the party when he was the KPCC president,” he added.
