THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In his debut speech in the Assembly, Saji Cheriyan MLA has said all sections of people in Kerala had voted for him. All people of various age groups, cutting across political, religious and cattiest lines, voted for me. If anybody dares to say the LDF tried to please a special group, it will be equivalent to defaming the people,” he said.
Saji Cheriyan started his speech by paying respect to his predecessor, the late K K Ramachandran Nair. “Getting majority from the booths in places where Ramesh Chennithala and Oommen Chandy had won made me very happy. The Chengannur victory is the progress report of the LDF government’s activities over the past two years. Over the past ten years, UDF had not made any contribution to Chengannur. But since the Left came into power. Projects worth Rs 750 crore were implemented in Chengannure since the LDF came into power,” he said.
