THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Congress leader V M Sudheeran said at a press conference here on Wednesday that former chief minister Oommen Chandy hadn’t liked him becoming the KPCC president. Though he was present in Thiruvananthapuram, he had not attended his swearing-in ceremony.

“Later I went to his house and met him but Oommen Chandy showed a cruel apathetic face at me at that time. After I became the KPCC president, he tried to fail my Janapaksha yatra. It was Oommen Chandy who had flagged off the yatra but nowhere in his speech did he utter my name, even when I was the captain of the march. In the second Janaraksha yatra also it was the same fate. It was only when the yatra reached Kottayam that he talked in appreciation of me, at least lightly. I was not implanted as KPCC president, I worked hard for the party that attained that level. I’m fully confident that as anyone else, I am also qualified to be a KPCC president,” he said.
