KOLLAM: The state government will allot Rs 330 crore in this financial year to protect Public Sector Undertaking's (PSU) in the State, Industries Minister A C Moideen said here on Wednesday.

While inaugurating the LED light manufacturing unit of PSU United Electrical Industries Ltd at Pallimukku near Kollam the Minister said, while funding priority will be given to establishments having history of better utilisation of funds.

Government is taking initiatives to revive sick PSUs in the state, the Minister said, adding that to cope up with present day challenges and for modernisation of units priority will be given to research programmes in industrial sector. Majority of the PSUs in the state is in profit, said Fisheries Minister J Mersikutty Amma while inaugurating the newly modernised water meter unit of the company.

M Naushad MLA presided over the function in which N K Premachandran MP delivered keynote address.
