KOLLAM: Fr Job Mathew, the priest arrested for allegedly abusing a housewife, has given a statement to the investigation officers that he had not sexually abused the woman

“Even I know the complainant, I am not sure whether she had come to confess,” he said in the statement given to the Crime Branch.

He gave the statement while he was being questioned by Crime Branch IG S Sreejith.

But there are reports that there are witnesses in the case to trap the priest, who is the second accused. He maintained a close relationship with the woman. Many times she has gone to the priest for confession, according to them.

One of the witnesses has said that he had seen the priest taking along her to his room. Such statements of witnesses will be recorded by the Crime Branch secretly.
