LONDON: Serbian tennis maestro Novak Djokovic and South Africa's Kevin Anderson are all set to join forces for the men's doubles event of the upcoming Rogers Cup.

The duo is slated to take on Canadian pair of Denis Shapovalov and Felix Auger-Aliassime in the opening round of the tournament on Monday, Sports24 reported.

Djokovic and Anderson took to their respective Twitter handles and expressed their excitement for the upcoming event.

“Looking forward to playing doubles with @DjokerNole this week in Toronto! #RogersCup," Anderson tweeted.

In reply, Djokovic wrote, "Looking forward to it @KAndersonATP! ?? #RogersCup."

It should be noted that the newly-formed pair had contested against each other in the finals of the recently-concluded Wimbledon championship, where Djokovic registered a convincing 6-2, 6-2, 7-6 (7-3) victory over the South African player.
