KANNUR: Even when the whole country was witnessing protests by Left parties against fuel price hike, petrol companies went about hiking the price.

The petrol price rose by 13 ps and diesel by 11ps. Today the petrol price in Thiruvananthapuram is Rs 84.40 for petrol and Rs 78.30 for diesel.

Those who protested against the UPA government for the price hike are now busy finding justification for the hike.

In between this, a statement by Hindu Aikyavedi Kannur district Secretary Reshma Rajeev has become viral. “I would love to buy one litre petrol for Rs 1000 rather than saying  Rahul Gandhi is our prime minister,” she said on her Twitter.
