THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has cancelled the transfer order of a Secretariat employee who had refused to donate a month’s salary to the chief minister’s relief fund (CMDRF).

It is the transfer order of Finance department session officer Anil Raj that was cancelled on Thursday.

In connection with the incident, he had apologised through his Facebook page. The cancellation of transfer order ensued.
Meanwhile, Anil Raj has informed that he will donate a month’s salary to the relief fund.

Anil is an active member of the left union in the Secretariat and he is also the secretary of employees’ association of the Secretariat.

Anil Raj had taken the stand that since both he and his wife are government employees, he would donate only his wife’s salary to the relief fund.  He said that his family had done many contributions during the time of the disaster and he could do nothing more.

He was transferred after this was shared in an employees’ Whatsapp group. Anil Raj was the officer who prepared the CM’s order regarding the salary challenge. He was transferred to pension department of National Income Scheme.

Meantime, finance minister’s office said that the transfer is not because of his stand against salary challenge and there is nothing unusual in the transfer order.
