       Local body bypolls on October 11

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: By-elections to 20 localbody wards in 10 districts will be held on October 11.
In Thiruvananthapuram, bypolls will be held in Meenmutti ward in Nanniyode grama panchayat and 28 mile ward in Navayikulam grama panchayat. The model code of conduct has come into effect.

The election notification will be issued on September 15, and nominations can be submitted till September 22.
Scrutiny will be held on September 24. Last date for withdrawing nomination is September 26.
Counting of votes would be held from 10am on October 12.

Apart from Thiruvananthapuram, by poll will be held in 14 gram panchayat wards in Kollam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Kozhikode and Kannur.

Byelections will also be held in Thoovakadu ward in Thanur block panchayat in Malappuram and Kavumbhagam ward in Thalaserry municipality in Kannur.

Bharanikavu ward in Sasthamkotta, Thrikkunnapuzha north ward in Sooranadu and Kampamkodu in Ummannur will go for bypolls.

In Wayanad and Kannur, by elections will be held in one of the corporation wards.
