THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Jalandhar bishop Franco Mulackal is preparing to seek an anticipatory bail after the investigation team clarified that they will arrest him soon. It has been hinted that the bishop’s advocate is likely to approach the Supreme Court soon. Meantime, the police are preparing to arrest bishop Franco after interrogation on September 19. He will be subjected to sexual potency test after the arrest. Meantime, bishop’s advocate said that the bishop has not received a summons to appear before the investigation team. The advocate also said that the bishop will cooperate with the investigation.

The Latin Church may demand the removal of Franco Mulackal from his post as he is alleged in sexual abuse case. This is following the public protest. Both Bishop Franco and the nun who lodged sexual abuse case against him are Zero Malabar Church members. However, Jalandhar diocese belongs to Latin Church. Therefore, the pope should take action against Jalandhar bishop. The Latin Church will request the Pope to remove the bishop as per the recommendation of Archbishop Giambattista Diquattro, Vatican’s representative to India.
