It is time certain reforms are introduced in the way the police behaves in the midst of an agitation.  We see the police indulging in wanton and unnecessary violence against the agitators.   We also see the police force mercilessly lashing the agitators who are lying hurt on the ground.  Where is the need for three or four policemen to beat a man lying defenselessly on the ground? It is also commonly seen the police lashing at people who are calmly standing by the hurt people on the ground.  It is time the size and thickness of lathi sticks are reduced to reduce the severity of the injuries.

Rules should also be framed in the use of water cannons.  Instead of being used as a defensive mechanism to disperse a violent mob, they are more used as an attack weapon.  We often see the cannons aimed at agitators lying on the ground or a solitary figure standing on the sidewalk or by the fallen agitator.  Is it a war that  grenades are used  on the agitating youngsters? It is time that the use of grenades is banned in controlling the mob.
