THRISSUR: Singer Lata Mangeshkar has been selected for the Dakshinamurthy Nada Puraskaram instituted by the Peringottukara Devasthanam. Award committee chairman M K Arjunan announced the award. The award carries a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, shawl and a citation. The award will be presented at the Dakshinamurthy music festival on January 13. Devasthanapathi Unni Damodaran will present the award. Singer Vani Jayaram will be chief guest at the function. Sreekumaran Thami will deliver the Dakshinamurthy memorial talk. Musician K G Jayan will be conferred with the title Asthana Vidwan of the Devasthanam.
