PALGHAR: A 33-year-old married man from Vikramgadh taluka here has been arrested for allegedly raping a college girl repeatedly, police said Tuesday.

The accused was arrested yesterday after the 21-year-old victim filed a complaint with Vikramgadh police on Sunday.

According to the complainant, who studied at a college in neighbouring Wada taluka, the accused identified as Anand Arun Dukte used to stalk her frequently.

Once he forcibly took her in a car to different locations including a farm and exploited her besides sexually abusing her inside the vehicle.

When the abuse continued for months, the girl, a resident of Balapur in Vikramgadh decided to approach the police following which the accused, belonging nearby Kurje village was booked under sections 366,376 (2)(n), and 506 of the IPC and also under sections (3)(1)(12) of the Atrocities Act of 1989.
