       Madhusoodanan Nair gets Padmaprabha literary prize

KALPETTA: Poet V Madhusoodanan Nair will be given this year’s Padmaprabha Literary Prize, Padmaprabha Memorial Trust chairman M P Veerendrakumar has said. The award comprises Rs 75,000, a plaque, and a citation.

Bharatheeyam, Gandhi, Naranathu Bhranthan, Agasthyahrudayam and Gandharvam are some of his major works. A jury comprising writers C V Balakrishnan, Rafeeque Ahmed, and S Saradakutty selected him for the prize.

Writer M Mukundan would present the award at a function to be held at Chandragiri Auditorium here on Thursday, Veerendrakumar said.
