KASARAGOD: A youth was killed and his relative suffered critical injuries when the car they were travelling collided head-on with a truck on the national highway at the district’s southern border town of Pilicode, near Cheruvathur, on Wednesday.

The accident occurred around 5 a.m. as the car in which the duo was travelling from Tirur collided with the truck.

While Santhosh Kumar, 32, a resident of Poovalamkai near Neeleswaram, died on the spot, his brother-in-law Unnikrishan, a resident of Parappa was shifted to the Pariyaram medical college hospital. Santhosh was running a computer shop in the town. The duo was returning from Tirur where they had gone to place orders for commodities for the recently opened super market at Parappa by Narayanan, Santhosh’s father-in-law.
