KOCHI: Kerala high court on Thursday postponed to March 9 the hearing of the petition filed CBI against the acquittal of the accused including Pinarayi Vijayan in the Lavalin case. The case was postponed as the counsels of both parties didn’t appear in the court today.

Meanwhile, the court slammed a petition filed by media person M R Ajay, urging the court to dispose of the case at the earliest. The court said that such petitions were given in order to attract media attention. In harsh terms, the single bench said, “We know what the job of the court is. No one need to teach us our responsibility.” The court also took exception to the case being discussed in channels. “Channels were celebrating the case,” the court observed.

Neither the counsel of Pinarayi nor CBI did appear in the court today; the last time also the counsels had not appeared in the court, the reason why the case was postponed to Thursday.

The case was considered by a bench headed by Justice P Ubaid.
