THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister A K Balan has said a permanent counter of Backward Development Corporation for the exhibition and sale of products under will be started next year. The project will be implemented with the cooperation of Tourism department.
He was speaking at Disha 2017, a programme organised by the Corporation to impart training and arrange self-employment loans for entrepreneurs. He was here to inaugurate the function.
The minister said, despite the note ban, the corporation had spent 100 per cent for various projects and the backward development department spent 79 percent. Till date Rs 2300 crore loan was distributed for about four lakh families. As many as 5000 applications were received under Disha scheme. The applicants will be provided with self-employment loans at reduced interest.
