PALAKKAD: Spiritual guru and traditional Ayurveda pandit Swami Nirmalanandagiri passed away at a private hospital in Palakkad on Thursday. He was 86.
His was a full-blown presence in the field of traditional and natural treatment for cancer and other fatal diseases.
He had come out with a treatment regimen comprising medicinal plants and naturally available materials to treat many diseases, providing succor to many. He believed that food habits was directly linked to diseases.
His deep knowledge of Vedas also had found application in his medications.
For some time, he was under the treatment of his disciples for old age-related diseases.His condition worsened Thursday morning. In a last attempt to save his life, he was rushed to Thangam hospital, where he breathed his last at around 6:30 in the evening.
For years he had been staying at his Kayarampara Palayil mutt in Palakkad.
