THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said the government will not go back on its decision to form Kerala Administrative Services (KAS).

"KAS is the need of the State," he said on Thursday during his inaugural speech at Secretariat Staff Association conference.

"As part of KAS, training will be given at global standards. The training will emphasis on serving the public. A section of the staff has some misgivings on KAS and it needs to be rectified. The government stands by the staff for all their fair needs," he said.

Pinarayi said the government was not against disclosing cabinet decisions as per RTI act. "But certain things, we can't reveal. Some are spreading the rumour that the government is against the RTI. Such people are trying to create smokescreen. We have to see their intention behind this," he said taking a dig at CPI for their criticism of the government on the issue.
