THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Neyyar Dam police have registered a case against a few identifiable youths on the charge of stabbing a policeman and injuring him. The policeman was identified as Gopakumar, 45.

The police said  Gopakumar was stabbed with a screwdriver when he tried to intervene in a brawl between drunken youth who had come for a music programme held in connection with the temple festival at the Kuruntharakonam temple in the station limits.  Gopakumar was taken to the Aryanad government hospital. He was discharged after treatment.
