PERAVOOR: Three accused in the Kottiyur rape case, in which a Plus One girl student was impregnated by a vicar, got anticipatory bail on Monday.

Thalassery Additional Sessions Judge G Sreekala Suresh granted conditional anticipatory bail to doctors Tessy Jose, Dr Hyderali and Administrative Officer Sister Ancy Mathew.

Earlier, while considering the bail petition of the four accused, Kerala high court had asked all the four to surrender before the investigation officers and said that the trail court could grand bail the same day.

On the basis of this order, the four today surrendered before Peravoor CI and soon came out on bail. They were Chairman Fr Thomas Therakam, Sister Betty Jose, Vythiri Orphanage centre staff Sister Ophelia and Robin’s helper Thankamma Nelliyani.
This was the basis for granting bail to the three persons today.

Meanwhile, the police have intensified the search for nuns Aneeta and Lis Mary who have gone into hiding.
The main accused Robin Wadakkumchery is currently lodged in Thalassery jail.
