THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has issued orders for payment of Rs 2 lakh as compensation to the parents of a girl who died owing to alleged medical negligence. Four-month-old Rudra of Maranalloor panchayat died at SAT Hospital on July 10 last year. Her parents, Ramya and Suresh, had approached the Youth Commission seeking its intervention and submitted a complaint. The commission found that the complaint was valid and issued orders on August 31 last year for the couple to be given compensation. The order asks the State Police Chief and Director of Medical Education (DME) to ensure that Ramya has received no other benefits from other departments.
