THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There is temporary respite in the arguments between CPI and CPM regarding many issues including Munnar encouragement. The decision was taken in the LDF meeting that convened here on Friday.

There are also talks about halting the clearing of encroachments in Munnar.

Meanwhile, CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran has said that the differences of opinions about things including the Munnar issue between CPM and CPI has not been resolved.

He was talking to the media after the meeting. He also added that there needs more discussions regarding the Munnar issue.

A decision to call for an all-party meeting to discuss the Munnar issue has been taken in the meeting.

Both CPM and CPI stuck to their opinions regarding the taking down of the holy cross in Munnar. When chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan opined that there were lapses in the way the holy cross was taken down, the revenue minister riveted his earlier stand that all proper measures were taken while doing it.

Meanwhile veteran CPI leader V S Achuthanandan cautioned both the parties not to make worse the Munnar issue, and said that they should unite with regards to this issue.
