THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:  UDF Convenor P P Thanckachan has said removal of holy of cross from the government land at Pappathichola was sinful. “The action in Munnar was the one that brought mental pain to Christian believers.”

“Nobody will believe the chief minister’s statement that he was unaware of the plan to remove the holy cross. The emotional outburst of the chief minister was mere hypocrisy,” he said.

Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala said Cross demolition drama was part of the attempts to protect large-scale encroachments.
