IDUKKI: Two youth drowned in a pond of a private resort, near Kulamavu, on Wednesday evening. The victims were identified as Thiruvalla resident Albin C.Cheriyan, 26, and Karunagapally resident Sajan Babu, 26, employees at Infopark, Kochi. They were part of a 40-member team visiting the Idukki dam. After visiting the dam, the team was back at the resort.

The duo drowned in the pond in a bid to retrieve a ball that fell in the water body. They were taken out of the pond with the help of hotel employees and rushed to a hospital at Moolamattom, where they were pronounced brought dead, the Kulamavu police said.
