KASARGOD: A 75-year-old woman died after she is suspected to have set herself afire inside her house at Koliyadukkam, near the eastern border township of Kanathur in Muliyar village. The police identified the dead as Kammadathu Amma, wife of late Kunhambu Nair.

The incident was reported on Sunday. The woman, who was residing with her daughter-in-law, Vijayalakshami, a teacher at the nearby Buds special school, was alone at home. She was taken to a hospital in Mangaluru. She succumbed to burns on Sunday, police at the Adhur station said.
