KOCHI: The facility to correct errors in Aadhar cards will soon become available at post offices. One would also be able to update the details in the card and renew it at post offices.

The idea is to arrange facilities at post offices to the convenience of the public. For the above facilities and for issuing new Aadhar cards through post offices, the total expense will come up to Rs One lakh for each post office. Hence the government will not take up the project of issuing new cards, for now.

Post officers have got the permission from Unique Identification Authority Of India for carrying out the above project.
The importance has been given for correcting errors since 99 per cent of the people are in possession of Aadhar card.
