THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader Ramesh Cheniithala has said when the whole of Kerala is shivering with fever, Health Minister K K  Shailaja is playing politics.

“When more than 100 people die of different kinds of fever, it is only the minister who is not aware of the seriousness of the issue,” he said.

“Usually, precautionary measures against fever are started in January itself. In the Assembly, the Opposition moved adjournment motion several times in this regard but both the government and the health department took it lightly, the result of which is seen now. In State hospitals, there are no sufficient facilities, as well. Even doctors on duty are contracting dengue fever. Such a dreadful situation exists in Kerala,” Chennithala said.
