       Cherai beach murder: One person in custody

KOCHI: Police have taken one person into custody in the case related to the murder of a woman at Cherai beach in broad daylight on Friday.

Kottayam native Prashanth is the person in custody. Police said that he is a cable TV operator.

The incident happened at around 1 pm at Cherai beach. The dead was identified as Varappuzha native Sheethal. The woman, who was stabbed, ran to the roadside and collapsed. There were six wounds on her body. Though she was rushed to hospital, she soon succumbed to the injuries.
