KOLLAM: Talking to reporters at Puthoor here, P C George MLA has said that the trend of putting a man behind the bars just because a woman gave a complaint against him is not right, and it needs to be corrected.

He also said that the way the rules made to protect a woman is misused to make a man a slave is dangerous.

He added that action against a man must be taken only after verifying whether there is any truth in the complaint given by the woman, or else, we’ll have to come up with new rules to provide protection to men.

Commenting on the actress attack case, he said that now the innocence of Dileep is gradually getting proven. “The 19 allegations raised by the police against the actor has now failed. The police is now in a position to find the people behind the conspiracy that got Dileep arrested,” he said.

P C George added that he believes that the things mentioned by Dileep in his new bail-plea are true, but that he has never said Dileep is not the culprit.

He also made an observation of the actress attack case. “Whether the actress was attacked or not, there’s one thing that’s noteworthy. It’s that the accused (Pulsar Suni) didn’t just abandon her at some odd place but took care to leave her at the doors of someone who would be able to protect her,” he said.
