IDUKKI: A couple were found dead at their house at the Adimali Patham Mile colony on Wednesday.

The police identified the victims as Chelat Chandran, 69, and her wife Sarojini, 60. While the body of Sarojini was found on the bed, the body of Chandran was seen hanging from the roof of their house.

A suicide note recovered by the police said that they were taking the extreme step as no one was there to look after them. The couple had two sons living away, the police said.

The bodies were handed over to relatives after autopsy at the Kottayam Government Medical College Hospital.
