THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi has said those who keep silence over child abuse are people who support the abusers.

He was speaking during an interaction with children, held under the aegis of State Child Rights Commission on Tuesday.

"I'm declaring truceless war against increasing atrocities on children. Non-violence is the war against violence. Can you think about children who loses their childhood and happiness? You and I can change this situation. My dear children, India lives in you," he told children.

He said trying to hush up child labour and sexual exploitation of children will lead to more dangerous situation. Initially finding result for our efforts may be difficult but it will bear fruit in the long run.

Satyarthi, who was here as part of his Bharat yatra, said he was happy to be in Kerala.

The event was attended by the chief minister, Child Rights Commission chairman Shoba Koshy, Minister K K Shailaja, Chief Secretary Dr K M Abraham.

His yatra against child abuse will end in October after it has completed 11000 km spanning 22 states.
