KOCHI: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has said that the party would seek explanation from minister Kadakampally Surendran regarding his visit to Guruvayoor temple and the offerings he made there.

He also said that he cannot respond to the issue based on media reports.

“It is Kadakampally who has to explain what happened with regards to his visit to the Guruvayoor temple. It is only after listening to his explanation that the party can take any further action,” he said.

Kodiyeri also rejected the statements made by K B Ganesh Kumar MLA in support of Dileep who is in remand in connection with the case of the abduction and attack of the actress in Kochi. He explained that Ganesh Kumar was voicing his personal opinions and it is not the stance of the CPM or the LDF. He also made clear that the government is with the actress who got attacked.

“Ganesh Kumar is an independent MLA who supports LDF. He could have his own personal opinions. The government has taken strong actions with regards to the case of the attack of the actress,” he said, and added that such strong actions wouldn’t have been taken had it been the UDF government now.
